well to be on the safe side i put my 75 in early for a service....... well N/S/F door inner cable replaced
new tail gate gas struts fitted
engine hydramount R/H replaced and lower engine steady bar
new rear wiper blade
rear brakes replaced inc hand brake ad discs
new thermostat (again, this had lasted about 8 years)
full service ... so after all that it should be a better drive again ... alas also some things were noticed that will need doing for mot in about june but as this lot was about £1300 he has left it till i get it sorted
oh hum the joys of motoring ...
never heard of the hydramount but it makes the engine smoother ...and mine was worn out
so over all the 75 is going to be well sorted for the trip and the MOT stuff can wait till i come back as not urgent but will need to be done to pass the MOT in july so it will go may to austin garages some time in june ...
after the accident the MGF is now fully done and repainted/repaired with new Head gasit and water pump/cam belt and full service and mot and the MG3 has had a new radiator and bonnet switch under warranty so all 3 car have been getting work done .. oh hum the joys of cars but we hope to keep them going as long as we can .. so with all the work on the 75 it should be like driving a new car.... we look forward to the trip to germany in it

Nicolas (Scoubix) from France and chairman of the France Roverclub will bring his T4 Testbook.
In Schramberg we will meet on Saturday the international VW Beetle Club.
Together with us they will also visit the three museums.
Among the ± 50 beetles there will also be a special car, a prototype.
What an event: the international Rover 75 Club will meet in the Black Forest the international VW Beetle Club.
Best regards,

not long now till the event , alas i will not having my paint work sorted as i had intended be fore getting the MGF repaired post accident and its re spray etc , the major work on both the 75 and MGf which cost far to much but needs must .. so my rear door is a it poor but engine wise etc the 75 is in very good nick now and drives much better .. over all having the engine etc fully sorted is more important than some paint work which shall be done later . most of it is due to events pre dating my having it and some not fully correct paint jobs .. oh hum ..
so next week again our 75 will be traveling to Germany and meeting with club 75 |

Hello everyone,
Made it safely back home :)
Thanks to everyone, especially Pim, for the wonderful weekend!
Here are a few of my pictures for this weekend.
Arrival on Friday :
Saturday :
Sunday in Strasbourg :
And finally, on the way home today through Strasbourg, I stopped at the former MG Rover dealer that is still, to this day, affiliated to XPart. To my own surprise, quite still a large site, with a showroom full of MGR cars, a few more cars parked outside, and quite a large number of wrecked cars providing parts.
How they manage to stay in business in such a large scale, even for a city such as Strasbourg, amazes me.
