Important update to the Tour de Ruhr with more details

Hello all

as I was aware some of you have been irritated about some points of the program and about the attendance fee breakdown. Therefore after discussion with the organiser schroeder you will find here the missing details and I hope all irritations will be smoothed out.

Historical means of transport
That means the world famous overhead railway in Wuppertal. We will not go by one of the normal trains but we have booked exclusive for us the eldest train that still runs on the track. This train was built in 1900 and is called the "Kaiserwagen".

The round-trip between both ultimate destinations will last about 80 minutes. No one except our group will be on bord and a local guide will explain the system of the train and what to see from the city of Wuppertal. I'm pretty sure that there will be someone with us who is able to translate. We've booked a special trip without catering. This will succeed as the
Bergische Kaffeetafel
This a real local speciality. Sweet stuff (cakes) and tasty (bread, bacon etc.) food, served with a very special coffee pot. Very opulent!

Exeptional vehicle
The execptional vehicle is a wooden raft (may be two if we'll find enough participants) on the river Ruhr. But first of all we have to do a little work because the raft has to be assembled with help of an instructor. This guy will also pilot the raft. We will slowly go downstream. On board drinks and a lunch package for every participant will be served. Please make sure that you have some sunscreen in case of warm weather and also some weatherproof clothes in case of rainy weather.

Don't worry, everyone will get a lifevest but be sure we won't need them!


Some details about the attendance fee breakdown

Please find the following details what is included in the attendance fee:

- Coffee and cake for reception on 2010-06-03 at the Hotel Elbschetal
- Buffet-lunch, overall price per person 30,- EUR

- Trip with the overhead railway in Wuppertal incl. guide. The fixed price is 420,- EUR for the whole train. So the price per person depends on the number of participants.

- Bergische Kaffeetafel 15,- EUR per person

- Several entrance fees (mining museum, world heritage Zollverein) 20,- EUR per person

- Trip by raft 50,- EUR per person
- Lunch package and drinks on board 5,- EUR per person

- Bus Transfer, shuttle service and barbecue incl. drinks 25,- EUR per person

All in all we have calulated a total price of 180,- EUR per person incl. a reserve of 25,- EUR per person if the worst comes to the worst.
Every overplus we may have will be refunded to the participants or will be donated. It's your choice.

Costs for accomodation incl. continental breakfast are not included.
The official price for a double room is 80,- EUR and for a single room 58,- EUR. We will enter into negotiations with the hotel as soon we will know the concrete number of attendees. So we expect to reduce the above mentioned rates.

If you compare the costs of previous meets and what you had to pay for meals, drinks, entrance fees etc. our calculation is really matchable. Please mind that this is a three days meet and not a two days meet as most of the prior meets have been.

Now every secret is unveiled, all costs are defined and everything should be clear.
